Kalidindi Vivek Varma is the founder and a director of Kingsequestrian Foundation, a Section 8 charitable company in Bengaluru that brings sport, learning and skills to children and youth from economically backward families, persons with disabilities and older people through rescued horses.
Why he founded the Foundation
Vivek is a dedicated equestrian with a deep passion for dressage and show jumping, and he has dedicated himself to advancing equestrian sport and the well-being of horses. He founded Kingsequestrian Foundation to bring sport, learning and skills to young people through rescued horses, because the care and calm that horses ask of us can help people build confidence, responsibility and skills.
What he leads
With his co-founder and fellow director, Kalidindi Lakshmi, Vivek guides the Foundation’s programmes and the care of its horses. Under their guidance the Foundation works on principles of integrity, innovation and sustainability. It was incorporated in 2022 as a Section 8 not-for-profit company. In September 2026 it received 12A registration and 80G approval from the Income Tax Department and registered to undertake CSR activities. See the Transparency page for the numbers.
Five connected areas of work
The Foundation’s work brings five areas together, with horses as partners in each:
- Sport for young people
- Relief for families in need
- Health and wellbeing
- Rehabilitation and skills, including careers with horses
- Education and leadership
The horses at the heart of these programmes are described on Our Horses.
