Sport, learning and skills with rescued horses
Kingsequestrian Foundation is a charitable Section 8 company in Bengaluru. Rescued and retired horses are rehabilitated, rehomed and trained to work with children and youth from economically backward families, persons with disabilities and older people. Our programmes run at our own stable and grounds in Bengaluru and Hosur.
What we do
Sport for young people
Equestrian sport and riding introductions for children and youth, including those from economically backward families.
Relief for families in need
Free and subsidised participation, learning materials and meals linked to our programmes, open to all.
Health and wellbeing
Equine-assisted programmes that support emotional wellbeing, run with qualified professionals, plus awareness on health and sanitation.
Rehabilitation and skills
Programmes for persons with disabilities and older people, and vocational training as groom, farrier, trainer and stable manager.
Education and leadership
Learning support for economically backward students, with leadership and life skills built through working with horses.
Our horses
Every horse in our programmes is a rescued or retired animal that we rehabilitate, rehome and care for. Their care is what makes the programmes for people possible.
Open to all
Our programmes are open to all, irrespective of caste, creed, race, religion or language. Our equine-assisted programmes support wellbeing and complement, and do not replace, medical or professional treatment.
Founded by Kalidindi Vivek Varma
Kalidindi Vivek Varma, a dedicated equestrian with a passion for dressage and show jumping, founded Kingsequestrian Foundation with his co-founder Kalidindi Lakshmi to bring sport, learning and skills to young people through rescued horses. Read his profile or visit our Media page.
Five areas that work together
Each programme supports the others. A child who starts in sport can find learning support, a young adult can train for work, and each of them helps care for a horse that has been given a second chance.
- Sport brings young people to the stable.
- Relief removes cost barriers so that families can take part.
- Health and wellbeing builds confidence and calm.
- Rehabilitation and skills leads to careers with horses.
- Education and leadership carries the learning into school and work.
